Trauma Services to Host the 3rd Annual StreetSafe Event

September 30th, 2017

Trauma Services is offering the StreetSafe Lifesaving Driving Experience to all teens of NHRMC employees as well as all young drivers in the community we serve. StreetSafe is a hands-on driving program designed to teach young, inexperienced drivers how to become safer and more responsible behind the wheel.

Under the guidance of highly trained StreetSafe instructors, students experience losing control of a car, how to maintain a realistic stopping distance, the dangers of drinking and driving, the perils of distracted driving, while also emphasizing the importance of wearing a seatbelt and making good decisions.

Students are taught by law enforcement and fire personnel, the First Responders who know all too well the tragic results of unsafe driving. StreetSafe also emphasizes the importance of the role of parents, helping them manage their young driver and understand the financial liabilities of having an inexperienced driver in their household.

The event is sponsored by Kohl’s Cares. It is $10 for all young drivers of NHRMC employees and $15 for children of non-employees.

Attendees must have a valid learner’s permit or driver’s license to participate and parents are required to attend the first hour.

The event will be held Saturday, September 30th from 9am until 1:30pm at John T. Hoggard High School. Please arrive by 8:45am to ensure plenty of time for registration. Dress for the weather as part of this program takes place outside. This program will be held rain or shine.

Space is limited, so sign up today!
