CityArts Factory - Downtown’s largest arts and cultural center will open a unique exhibition featuring local artist Markus Rowntree on December 15, on view until January 13.
STREET STORIES will feature works by Rowntree, including drawings, as well as paintings and sculptures.
Markus Rowntree has personally interviewed and collected stories from various characters around Orlando; from victims of the Pulse tragedy to homeless citizens. He has translated these personal accounts into original works of art; each interpretations of the stories that the humans of this city carry.
Rowntree's style is juvenile and full of shocking color which represents innocence and adventure, while the messages of his work can be controversial and hard hitting.
As if to look at the tensions of the world through the curious eyes of a child.
A portion of the proceeds from the STREET STORIES exhibit will benefit the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida.
Street stories is Markus Rowntree's debut solo exhibition.
Markus Rowntree is a Dutch American artist living and working in Downtown Orlando.
