About this event

This course is designed to provide training for law enforcement personnel to restore the safe, lawful, and efficient use of the highway transportation system while reducing California Vehicle Code violations. The following topics related to street racing and side-show activity enforcement are: History, Culture & Current Trends of Street Racing; Speed Contests, Exhibition of Speed & Reckless Driving; Failure to Comply and Evading; Side-Shows, Freeway Takeovers & Roadway Obstructions – Engaging, Participating, Facilitating, & Spectating; Basic Understanding of Vehicle Engines & Components; Legal vs. Illegal Engine and Vehicle Modifications; Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) Purpose, Mission, & Presentation of Emissions Equipment; Vehicle Inspection Process/Techniques; Enforcement of Violations – Citations, Custodial Arrests, Seizure Warrants & Vehicle Impounds; Air Support Involvement, Mobile Field Force, Mutual Aid & Task Force Implementation; Evidence Collection, Criminal Investigations & Report Writing; Courtroom Preparation & Testimony.
