Street Love Ride: Rolling Deep for Peace in North Lawndale
The goal of the "Street Love” 9 mile, 2 hour ride is to bring together about 1,000 cyclists to symbolize peace and unity in North Lawndale. This is more than a demonstration of peace, this is also designed to send a message to those on the streets that there is a positive community ready to embrace them when they are ready for something different.
We represent a positive community on two wheels, riding through North Lawndale to share peace, love, and light. This ride is for community members, peace activists, bicycle enthusiasts - All are welcome to ride!
The event will kick off with a community expo and cookout for North Lawndale residents and ride participants at 5pm at St. Agatha Catholic Church, 3147 W Douglas Blvd, Chicago (near Douglas and Kedzie).
At 8pm we will begin our 9 mile bicycle love journey through North Lawndale, ultimately circling back to St. Agatha Catholic Church where we will conclude with refreshments, a community discussion, and a call to action for us all to play a role in bringing peace to our streets.
