STREET GAMES™, an initiative of the Jon Drummond Achievment Foundation, is a FREE, fun health & fitness festival for children, youth and their families.
More than 2,000 boys and girls ages 6 to 18, along with their parents, community leaders, and volunteers from local universities, corporations, community-based organizations and residents from surrounding neighborhoods will gather at ParkWest Town Center in Wynnefield (52nd & Jefferson Streets) on Saturday, September 18th at 11am to play “old school” neighborhood games such as four square, double-dutch rope, skully, "Steal the Bacon" and hopscotch.
STREET GAMES™ visionaries, Olympic gold medalist Jon Drummond and celebrated strategist Shelton Mercer, have partnered with ACHIEVEability, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering single parents to be self-sufficient, to present the Healthy Minds & Bodies Festival. Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr. (D-4th) has also pledged his support of a landmark event for the young and the young at heart.
The event is designed to raise awareness and provide attainable solutions for holistic health and wellness and community safety. STREET GAMES™ features:
Neighborhood games such as box ball, four square, skully, volleyball, standing broad jump and double-dutch jumprope, 40-yard dash, shuttle relay races.
Healthy Minds & Bodies Festival presented by ACHIEVEability.
Free screenings, information and referrals provided by key community, faith based and health organizations.
Professional athletes and celebrity appearances with autograph signings and gameplay with youth.
Free, live stage show featuring inspirational, local and national talent.
