Join us for this intimate 90-minute class where Erin Hostetler, owner of The Patio Farmer, will cover the 5 "S's" of growing food at home PLUS invite you to start your food growing journey by providing a planter, soil, and seedlings to start growing your own vegetables, herbs and fruit at home in whatever size space you have.

Farmer Erin is passionate about teaching others how to get started or continue their food-growing journeys. She specializes in small space growing (like patios, decks, raised beds in the backyard) but has many years of on-farm work experience growing Certified Organic fruit, vegetables, and herbs.

Advance ticket purchase is required.

The Patio Farmer is a woman-owned business that works one-on-one and in-home with clients across the Charlotte area who are interested in growing food at home. Farmer Erin got her bread and butter farm education while working on a 20-acre Certified Organic production farm in northwestern Pennsylvania. She has worked on an urban farm in central London, an organic farm in eastern Iceland and several local farms in Charlotte and Concord. For 2 seasons, Erin was the Farm Manager at the Urban Farm at Garinger High School in east Charlotte.

Since 2017, Erin has owned and operated The Patio Farmer where she gets to apply her knowledge and passion for growing food in a creative and supportive way, helping individuals and businesses across the Charlotte area.
