Streamline Your Strategic Planning Process
Event Information
Description
Libraries seeking to deeply impact their communities and show their value need a strong strategic plan to anchor their direction. New and seasoned library administrators want strategic plans that work, not just sit on a shelf. This session will inspire attendees to think about strategic planning as a transformative (and even fun!) process that streamlines implementation and management for real results.
This session will walk attendees through a process that leads to a one-page strategic plan. While a full written plan still exists, attendees will learn the value of a streamlined process that has the potential to generate impact for their library. Participants will learn:
- How to structure and manage the strategtic planning process;
- What elements inform the process and how to gather feedback from the community and partners;
- The role of the Board and staff in strategic planning;
- How to effectively (and graphically!) communicate about your strategic plan (internally and externally); and
- How to measure and report results.
This program will be led by Amanda Standerfer, Fast Forward Libraries/Standerfer Consulting
