For on-road or nearby campsites, please drive in, unload and return your car to parking lot.
For more distant sites, we have limited handcarts and drop-off service.

We will provide a lifeguard at the main lake beach, but there is no lifeguard on duty at other areas or other times.
The lake is closed after dark.
Please use the footpath to the reservoir starting between the Stage House and the Jennifer Cottage.
There are two docks, one on the Western side of the dam and one in the middle of the reservoir. Please don’t move them around.
Sound travels differently over water so please be considerate with noise.
We offer two options: a family-swim area at the dam and a clothing-optional area by Sunrise Camp.
At This Event:
Sexual harassment will not be tolerated, and any offender will be asked to leave immediately. In continuation of our Camp Tipsy Constitution, do not comment on anyone’s body or physical appearance.
Illegal drugs are not allowed at Mendocino Magic and those under 21 should not have alcohol.
We ask you smoke only on decks, and that you are especially careful due to fire danger.
We ask that all adults on site be fully vaccinated. If you have an exception, please contact us at communications@sfiop.org at least 4 days before arrival. We also encourage common sense handwashing, optional mask-wearing at your preference, and distancing when indoors.
Here are some parts of our Camp Tipsy Constitution that also apply to this gathering:
Article V: Diversity
Anyone can constramp, and Camp Tipsy creates a safe and welcoming environment for people of all backgrounds and flavors. Camp Tipsy is a safe space for people who create safe spaces.
Article VIII: Conflict & Justice
While working within all local, state, and federal laws, Camp Tipsy believes in restorative justice within the community. In response to physical, emotional, or any other violence the community will prioritize the safety and healing of the injured while taking all necessary action to prevent further harm.
Article VI: Sexual Violence
Camp Tipsy has a zero-tolerance policy for sexual violence. It protects people who are being harassed before it debates what “harassment” means with people of bad conscience. People who don’t know what “harassing” someone else looks like are not socially competent enough to participate in our community and will be ejected and banned. Those who violate another’s consent will be ejected, banned, and reported to authorities.
Warnings:
First Aid Kits are located in each house in the bathroom, and at the Lanai Kitchen.
We will have a Medical Area located by the Kitchen.
Poison Oak:
In addition to poison oak, there are thorny plants and blackberry brambles throughout areas of the campground. We do our best to clear trails and campground spaces of hazardous plants. Three green or red shiny leaves mean do not touch!
If you have come in contact with Poison Oak, immediately wash the area with Dawn dish soap and Tecnu Poison Oak Soap which is provided in the outdoor shower and the Lanai Kitchen.
Bears:
If you see a bear on the property, make yourself as big as you can, extending your arms, and making a lot of noise.
We do not expect bears at a larger gathering like this.
Ticks & Other Bugs:
Guests are encouraged to mind their food for the sake of yellow jackets.
Mosquitos are a part of our ecosystem and are most active during dusk and dawn, approximately 6pm- 9pm in the summer camping season. Best practices for avoiding bites is to wear long sleeves and pants, as well as mosquito repellent, when outside during this time of day. Red Deer Ticks are commonly found on guests and pets. Always check yourself and your dogs for ticks after time outside.
Snakes:
At certain times of the year our local snake population surges (early spring) - please be cautious flipping over kayaks or ducking under decks, or places where a cold-blooded reptilian would want to hide.
What kinds of wildlife can I expect to see?
While the list is always growing, you can find lots of flora and fauna here. Help us add to our list:
Red Tailed Hawk, Red Winged Sparrow, Mallard Ducks, Wild Turkey, Bobcat, Wild Hare, Great Blue Heron, Stellar’s Jay, Wood Ducks, Black Tailed Deer, California Quail, Jackrabbit, Aniha, Blue Jay, Turkey Vulture, Mountain Lion (rare), Eastern Grey Squirrel, Wild Boar, Goldfinch, Canada Geese, Raven/ Crow, Black Bear (rare), Chipmunk, Large Mouth Bass.

The Fate of Camp Tipsy 2021
Camp Tipsy's lake is devoid of water.
Many of you joined us for the famed low-water year 7 years ago, when we had to hike from the treelines down to the small amount of water left. It was hot, and it was muddy. Well, this year there is even less water. A lot less. And it’s nowhere near where we could camp.
You don’t have to hit us over the head with a piano, we know when we are beaten!
But! Never fear.
We have booked a campground in Mendocino for the same dates:
Thursday June 24 - Sunday June 27th this year.
And the good news - it has 250 acres of redwoods and shade, and a small private lake for swimming, canoeing, and cooling off. It also has the option of some other camping amenities we don’t usually have at Lake Ladoga - like showers, hiking trails, and grills. And trees! It’s beautiful! And the moon will be full too!
We're calling it: The Strawberry Moon* Campout (*alleged)
This site can only accommodate 300 guests - a fraction of the number we usually welcome, but also spot-on to the number we’d imagined when addressing Covid concerns. So things will be different! And while we are sad not to have the same Camp Tipsy we know and love, we are extremely grateful to have the opportunity to host this event, and we are really looking forward to it.
What to expect:
We are still making plans, but are prioritizing:
Outdoor live music and dancing - small stage/ campfire style
The campground is right in Laytonville, CA, 2 ½ hour drive from SF
Fun activities for kids - scavenger hunt, sing-a-longs, woodland marches
Stone Soup or Potluck Dinner - while each camp should bring their own food, we are working on planning one or two big shared meals.
A few of the fun things from Tipsy like maybe a waterslide, the runway, the sailboards, all the inflatable floaties you people have left for the past 10 years that I’ve been saving, and a paddleboat or two…
HighRock security officers
Great coffee!
What not to expect:
We will not have “the pile” or workshop. We will not have a giant stage, lights, crew and three-hour variety shows of amazing music and circus arts. It will not be extremely hot. Rattlesnake numbers will not keep your humble director up at night!
Ticketing:
Turns out trees are expensive! And we are still bearing the costs of storage for Camp Tipsy's junk pile (now for the 2nd year).
Given the new (private vs. county) rental costs, and the new limit to the number of guests allowed on site, tickets for the remainder of spaces left are as follows:
We only have approximately 150 tickets left at this time. (Update: Sold Out!!)
We are releasing a small number of General Admission, Patron and Kid Tickets - once they are gone, they’re gone!
Now is a good time to secure them (here, on Eventbrite) if you plan to join us.
We are also offering Add-Ons:
Seven RV electric hookup sites at $100 each (no septic)
Three huge Glamping Bell Tents (197 sq ft!!) with queen beds, Champagne on arrival, breakfast and coffee in bed served by Jimmy in a gorilla suit - the VIP works at $1000 (includes 2 Patron Tickets).
Camp Tipsy tee-shirts! Order now, pick up at the Gate on arrival, have a clean shirt
You can add these to your ticket order within Eventbrite, or, if you already hold a 2021 ticket, you can order these now (also through Eventbrite).
The majority of these funds go directly toward the site rental, and any remainder will go toward organizing and transporting fun things to do, and supporting performers to attend and bring some of the Camp Tipsy magic along.
We are still providing security, medic/lifeguard, gate staff and a lot of the things we need, regardless of the event size. While we were hoping a larger event would support the SFIOP and future projects this year, this more intimate event will likely (we hope) break even and also be a really nice experience. If you would like to donate along with your ticket purchase, any additional funds will help to pay for the annual Camp Tipsy junkpile storage bill, and set us up for 2022 back at Lake Ladoga.
*If you are already a ticketholder with a Camp Tipsy 2020 ticket credit*
Camp Tipsy 2020 tickets are still good for any Camp Tipsy in the future. Unfortunately we can’t apply them all to this campout because of the limited number of humans allowed. We plan on having decades more Camp Tipsies, use your ticket for any of them! We will continue to hold your credit, no need to email us.
*If you are already a ticketholder with a Camp Tipsy 2021 ticket*
You have three options:
#1) Stick with the plan! All Camp Tipsy 2021 General Admission, Patron and Kid tickets will be automatically transferred to this event, the Strawberry Moon* Campout. No need to make any changes! Just sit tight, and you will get the normal Eventbrite reminder emails.
#2) If you prefer not to attend the Strawberry Moon* Campout this year -
you must email us at communications@sfiop.org before June 1
to release your space!! Any tickets not released before June 1 will be forfeit!
When you email - you can request a refund and we will put it right through, or you can hold a credit for Camp Tipsy 2022 (or beyond!)
June 1 is our deadline for any ticket changes.
Since space is so limited, we cannot accommodate last-minute changes.
What is Camp Tipsy?
Camp Tipsy is an annual rotten boat building contest and camp-out held at East Park Reservoir (aka Lake Ladoga) in Colusa County, California and is organized by the San Francisco Institute of Possibility.
Now in its 14th year, Camp Tipsy is a fun and family-friendly event. Participants build “boats” by day and are captivated by world class entertainment by night.
How do we go about building boats you say? We provide a tool shop, paint shop, haul out about an acre's worth of junk and plenty of shoreline to spread out... the building just happens from there. Of course, everyone is welcome to bring their own junk, tools and paint (you're free to leave behind what you don't want to haul home- we'll add it to the pile for next year).
Not everyone has to build a boat, many come to play on other people's boats and just enjoy the innovative frenzy of creation surrounding them... or just to float around in the water during the day, and dance under the stars to live music at night.
Tipsy Constrampions enter all their wonderful, whimsical and stupid boats to compete for valueless prizes in The Boat Contest on Saturday.
Covid Protocols: We are establishing a plan with our very own certified Compliance Advisor! Many factors are yet to be determined, such as vaccination and infection rates in the Bay Area and in Colusa County. At this time we are confident we can hold a thoughtful event, in keeping with all governmental guidelines and beyond, and presenting low risk for those who choose to attend based on their personal comfort level. We are studying additional protocols, and invite your input to communications@sfiop.org.

Ticketing:
Our ticketing system may be a bit unorthodox but there is a reasonable amount of logic built in. Let us explain...
We sell Patron Tickets for those who can afford to pay a bit more. We believe in inclusivity... so long as you agree with our constitution, and try to keep ticket prices low enough to be accessible to most. That being said, most camp-outs of this scale cost much more, so for those who have the means, we have "Patron Tickets." Patron Tickets offset the cost of general admission tickets and, we think, promote a more equitable and inclusive community.
Our general admission tickets start at $125 for our Weekender tickets and are $150 for our General Admission tickets and will go on sale, the moment we have sold the 100th $250 Patron Ticket.
There are also larger patron tickets available for those who would like to give more generously to this nonprofit event. Your support will allow Camp Tipsy not only to survive but to grow and improve! Remember us in your charitable giving!
For those who are curious enough to keep reading... Scroll down for more ticketing information. We LOVE transparency when it comes to funding.

Entertainment:
Aside from the rather hysterical boat contest, you can expect to be amazed by some world-class performances on the main stage each night. We've had a great run of spectacular shows year after year and are confident you will not be disappointed.
So there you have it... See you at the lake if not before!

__________________________________________________________________
Here’s how it works:
- General Admission Tickets will drop by almost 1/3rd to $150! We also have a "Weekender Ticket" for $125!
- We hope to sell these to those who need to be more financially conservative and/or who don’t know if Tipsy is for them and feel a higher ticket price is a barrier to trying it out.
- Kids tickets will cost $62.50
- Patron Tickets will be $250, $2,500 & $25,000
- Patron Tickets will offset the costs of General Admission Tickets. Since many fine camping events cost $300-$600 or more, we know many in our community are blessed with the means to chip in extra for an event they love. If you can, please do! Don't let us tell you what this event is worth... you tell us!
- $250 patron tickets gets you the knowledge that you paid extra to open the gates for others to come. We hope to sell 100 of the these.
- $2,500 Super Patron tickets- Purchase one of these and you get free entry to Tipsy for life. We hope to sell 10 of these.
- $25,000 UBER Patron Ticket- Purchase this and you get to come to Tipsy for life with 9 of your friends. We hope to sell just one of these.
We HIGHLY recommend coming as early as you can, to get the most out of your boat building experience. Live entertainment starts on Tuesday night!
We will release more General Admission Tickets as we sell more Patron Level Tickets! Your Patron Tickets help make Camp Tipsy more accessible.
