Description

This training will provide participants with evidence- based strategies to increase language development in pre-verbal and minimally verbal children from toddler through elementary school age with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Emphasis will be placed on behavioral interventions designed to increase language development, utilizing visual supports in a variety of settings and creating robust language environments.

Participants will leave with a durable, visual support system to utilize in their classroom.

Target audience: teachers of self-contained Pre-K through elementary ESE classes.

Lifelong Learning Center

From I-95

Take exit 83 for Donald Ross Road. Drive East on Donald Ross and turn left on Parkside Drive (2nd left after highway) Take an immediate right onto the FAU Campus. At the stop sign take a left. The LifeLong Learning Center will be on your right. Park in the white parking spaces. The professional development event will be in the large classroom to the left of the auditorium in the LifeLong Learning Center.

From Florida’s Turnpike:

Take exit 109 for PGA Blvd. Drive East on PGA and turn left on Central Blvd. Turn left on Donald Ross Road and turn right onto Parkside Drive. Take an immediate right onto the FAU Campus. At the stop sign take a left. The LifeLong Learning Center will be on your right. Park in the white parking spaces. The professional development event will be in the large classroom to the left of the auditorium in the LifeLong Learning Center.
