Event description

Description

This 9-hour myCHOICE mini-course will introduce you to the theories and practices of negotiation, with a specific focus on using these skills in professional contexts. The course will build cumulatively from seemingly simple, single-issue negotiations to more complex negotiations which involve multiple issues, multiple stakeholders, and enduring relationships between these stakeholders, as well as learning key differences between negotiations in specific professional contexts (e.g. academic job negotiations vs. industry job negotiations). Participants will use in-class experiences to hone their negotiations skills, to learn about common mistakes people make and how to correct them, and to cultivate negotiation strategies. The course will be comprised of lecture, negotiation exercises, and discussion, and will require preparation prior to in-class exercises.

Session Dates and TImes: August 21st, 23rd, and 28th, from 6 - 9 PM each night.
Location: TBA
Course Fee: $10

To participate in this mini-course, you must be registered as a myCHOICE Trainee. To register, go HERE.

Food will be served at all sessions.
