It could be that others are unaware of your capability, skills, experience and capacity.

Networking is an effective tactic for you to articulate your competencies, hear about upcoming career opportunities and help you remain “current” within your industry sector and amongst your peers.

Why this course is for you

Strategic Networking will suit both those who enjoy networking and those who are unsure of the benefits of investing the time to do it.

About the facilitator

Dr Dorothy Wardale

Dorothy is the Director of Corporate and Professional Development at Edith Cowan University.

Both in her current role, and leading a consultancy for over 20 years, she has learnt the power of networks: both in building them and supporting them. Through her networks she has secured leadership development, facilitation, consultancy and coaching work. Dorothy has worked for the mining and resources sector, government, healthcare, academia and construction industry.

She has extensive experience working with elite teams to develop and deliver excellent short courses and customised programs that meet the needs of today’s organisations. Her work is highly valued for the unique combination of theory informed content designed to provide practical and sustainable solutions for her clients.

Additonal Information

At the end of the session, there will have an opportunity for you to practice your networking skills. Drinks and nibbles will be provided.

PLEASE NOTE: All courses need a minimum number of attendees to proceed. If your course date does not have enough enrolments it will be cancelled and you will have the opportunity to either book in for an alternate date or have your fee refunded in full.


What are my transport options?

Driving - Closest parking will be in car park 5. You will need to use the paid visitor parking bays, which are highlighted in green. Parking fees are $1.50 per hour.

Public Transport - The nearest station is Joondalup, on the Perth-Joondalup line. The station is an eight minute walk from campus.

Alternatively, Transperth operates a free CAT bus service from Joondalup train station, stopping at the library (building 31), student housing and the Police Academy shared road.

What's the refund policy?

Attendees can receive refunds up to 10 days before the event start date.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes please bring your ticket with you.

Yes the registration fee or ticket is transferable, please email cpd@ecu.edu.au to notify us of the change.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
