Description

About the Workshop

Join ICAD on January 28–30th for a 2.5-day Strategic Doing Workshop about leading complex collaborations. The 2.5-day workshop, which will take place in downtown Iowa City at Merge, will provide attendees with the deep skills, tools, and frameworks of agile strategy and collaboration in order to teach you how to design and guide complex collaborations. All attendees who complete the 2.5-day workshop will leave as a certified Strategic Doing practitioner by the Purdue Agile Strategy Lab. Breakfast will be provided each day as well as lunch on Monday and Tuesday.

Cost

We are still nailing down the cost of the workshop. Currently, the cost is estimated to be $1,000 but we're hoping to secure some sponsors to lower the cost down for the attendees.

How to RSVP

We're anticipating that spots for this training will fill up fast. If you are interested in taking part in the Strategic Doing workshop, reserve your spot by "RSVPing" through this eventbrite event. Tom Banta will reach out to confirm your registration and our team will invoice you once we have the pricing solidified.

FAQ

What does the 2.5-day training entail?

In 2.5 days, Strategic Doing Workshop attendees will be trained in the deep skills, tools, and frameworks of agile strategy and collaboration. Called Strategic Doing, this discipline teaches participants how to design and guide complex collaborations by following simple rules.

Who will benefit from the workshop?

All kinds of people have benefited from using Strategic Doing in their professional and personal settings: economic developers, educators, corporate leaders, engineers, nonprofit professionals, government officials (local, state and federal), students, scientists, consultants, health care professionals, clergy, workforce system leaders, IT experts (and that’s just a partial list). Anyone who is working in a setting in which there is a degree of collaboration needed, and/or the environment in which they’re operating is dynamic, will find the skills useful.

What is Strategic Doing?

Strategic Doing has developed over more than two decades of work with people trying to strengthen their organizations, communities and regions. Developed by Ed Morrison from the Purdue University Agile Strategy Lab, Strategic Doing teaches people how to form collaborations quickly, move them toward measurable outcomes and make adjustments along the way. In today’s world, collaboration is essential to meet the complex challenges we face.

Strategic Doing enables leaders to design and guide new networks that generate innovative solutions. It is a new strategy discipline that is lean, agile and fast—just what organizations, communities and regions need to survive and thrive.
