Our focus: Imagine if Florida had one of the most organized and supported systems of angel investors in the world to work with start-ups, accelerate their growth, and improve investment performance.
What would that look like?
Our challenge involves not only overcoming widespread perceptions about Florida investment capital and investment opportunities, but also in gathering investors, organizing them, and strengthening the networks among them to increase deal flow and productivity of early stage investments.
Guided by Ed Morrison of Purdue University, Strategic Doing provides context and guidelines for getting things done rapidly by helping everyone get on the same page with a focus on results and not on the planning to achieve results.
What do we hope to achieve?
We believe increased collaboration among angel investors, investment networks and funds can yield:
Increased deal flow of higher quality, “investor-ready” ventures.
Scalable and more organized due diligence with shared costs.
Easier and faster access to expertise.
Improved staging of initial and follow-on investments.
Stronger negotiating positions with out-of-state VC’s.
More efficient management of investment risk as the venture evolves.
Higher probability of liquidity events.
Improved collaboration among angel investors in Florida will enhance performance of the angel investment process. This improved performance will not only accelerate growth of early stage companies, provide job creation to maintain our young talent pool and will create a powerful magnet for promising entrepreneurs to locate in Florida and to keep these high growth companies here.
