Coming to Terms with a Polarized Society Lecture Series: “Strangers in Their Own Land: Where Do We Go from Here?”

ARLIE HOCHSCHILD ( will discuss her acclaimed book, “Strangers in their Own Land: Anger and Mourning on the American Right,” which provides a clarifying and empathic view of the political convic-tions of conservative Louisiana voters. She will also describe what she learned from her recent revisit to Louisiana to hear their responses to Trump. FRED HARRIS and NICK LEHMAN, distinguished academics who also have personal experience of living in the American South, will provide commentary and perspective.

Free and open to the public. RVSP encouraged but not required.
