Event description

Description

Join Anne Reed, writer, storyteller and CREW Trust volunteer naturalist for a scholarly walk and talk on the history of our beautiful, pesky and sometimes deadly invasive species.

Southwest Florida is a hotbed for tropical plants, and many of our early settlers, inventors and plant pioneers introduced botanical wonders from around the world to our landscape that not only survived - they THRIVED. We will discuss the origins, dates of introduction, original intentions of the plants, why they became a problem and what methods are used today to combat their progress.

Suggested: please wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. Bring water.
