A Celebration of Women in Arts @ Broward County Libraries: "Women Crossing the Line Performance Festival"
About this event
Explore the art of true, first person storytelling in a fun, hands-on workshop! Learn about the psychology and cultural significance of storytelling; explore what makes true, personal storytelling effective; and develop skills in the selection, creation, and performance of stories based on your own life experiences. The workshop includes group activities, in-depth partner-work, and individual story-development exercises. We will focus on how to craft a meaningful story with emotional resonance, clear focus, and an effective structure. Then we will explore ways to connect with an audience while telling your story. Participants will have the opportunity to tell a short story in front of the whole group, and may be invited to tell a story at the 2020 Women Crossing the Line Performance Festival!
Facilitated by Helen Reynolds Producer of The Fort Lauderdale Story Slam
