Event description

Description

In this session we learn how to integrate data in the stories we tell to help explain, clarify and inspire action and change. This is a game changing skill for people who deal with data in organizations and who are looked upon to provide meaning, provide clarity and focus, and make connections to broader business goals and aspirations.

Together, we will make a collection of stories to:

  • Help shape the conversation about culture and engagement in your companies

  • Connect survey results to broader business goals and aspirations

  • Get people excited about the road ahead

  • Create a common / shared language and narrative about what makes your company unique

  • Get clarity before action / get clarity to drive action and change

How we'll get there:

  • We'll start with the basics: data in isolation vs. data in context. We'll analyze and critique examples using engagement data. Which examples promote understanding? Which examples hinder it?

  • We'll get to know our audiences: crafting the right story for specific audiences. Who are they? What do they care about? What decisions do they need to make? How might engagement data better inform or guide those decisions?

  • We'll take a look at the various roles data plays in the stories we tell: to clarify? to persuade? to debunk? to inspire action? all of the above?

  • Finally, we'll put it all together
