This Storytelling Salon features Martyn Mulhere, singer, guitarist, author and composer. Originally from Dublin, Paris is home for more than 20 years. At this Storytelling Salon, he will share his story and perform traditional Irish songs and original compositions. Also featured, a poetry reading from a surprise guest, and Sami Scot, the Storytelling Salon house pianist, will add interludes on the piano and accordion.

About Martyn…..studying and developing a passion for music at a young age, Martyn spent six years at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin. Arriving in Paris twenty years ago, he quickly forged a place in the heart of the French public, thanks to the delicacy of his instrumental playing and the strength of his voice, pure texts and simple but haunting melodies. In the tradition of Celtic music, his work reflects a sensitivity to the world. Martyn’s compositions and performances have found welcome homes across France, Ireland, other European countries and Chicago. He performs solo and in collaboration with major Irish artists such as Liam Ó 'Maonlai, Angeline Ball, and Luka Bloom. Martyn has released four albums and composed music for films, advertisement and documentaries. Martyn will share his story telling us about:

• Busking around the world
• Singing as a cowboy at Disneyland Paris in the Buffalo Bill Show
• The Irish Paris pub scene the last 27years
• The trigger for moving to Paris
• His mom who today at 83 years young plays the accordion
• As a youth keeping hush-hush taking tap dancing classes at the Irish Royal Music Academy
• Working in Occupational Music Therapy for special needs children
• As usual the Storytelling Salon will kick off with mingling in small groups joining guests from across the globe, the program and Q & A with the storyteller.
