About this event
The fourth Tuesday of every month is storytelling night at Caffe Lena. Tonight's show will feature some of the finest storytellers from around the Capital Region who often serve as the featured artists for these monthly open mics.
Kent Busman has been the director of Camp Fowler in the Southern Adirondacks for over 35 years. Working there and serving as a minister in the Reformed Church has given him the chance to tell many tales... some of them are even true! His love of caring for the earth and being close to wonder and awe are evident in many of the stories he tells.
Lâle Davidson, a storyteller, English professor and writer, began storytelling as a founding member of The Snickering Witches, a collaborative storytelling trio featuring stories about strong women. Her book of magical realist short stories, Strange Appetites was published last October, followed by her novel, Blue Woman Burning about a woman trying to reconcile with magical disappearance of her mother in South America. Another novel about the California redwoods and the activists trying to save them is due out in March.
Since 1995, award-winning storyteller Kate Dudding of Clifton Park, NY has been sharing entertaining, heartwarming and memorable stories. While specializing in true stories about real people who made a difference, she also delights in telling participation stories with children, creating stories from the past for all ages, and singing old-time songs with senior citizens. She tells at venues in Northeastern USA. Many of her five CDs received national awards. She won the 2010 National Storytelling Conference story slam in Los Angeles.
Caffe Lena has returned to full capacity. In order to ensure everyone's safety we are now requiring proof of vaccination for all attendees.
