Event Details

Everyone loves a good story. Whether you are teaching a lesson, leading a meeting or presentation or going on a date, storytelling is an incredible approach to engaging communication. A dramatic hook, a funny anecdote or a solid button – all can encourage looking, increase understanding and snag the audience.

This workshop teaches the basics of good storytelling. We’ll work on how you can incorporate stories in an effective way. Through interactive activities, students will learn tips and tricks to make a story work, and have a chance to workshop the beginnings of story with personalized feedback.

Good storytellers aren’t born, they’re made – and this class will get you started.

DON WAISANEN is a professor at Baruch College, City University of New York, where he teaches courses and workshops in communication, including executive speech training, media and campaign strategy, and seminars on leadership, improvisation, and humor. Don has been a performer in Los Angeles and New York for nearly two decades, and is a cast member of the National Comedy Theater in New York City. He writes for The Huffington Post and received a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Southern California.

Input Lofts

Innovation happens when you connect smart minds in a supportive environment. At INPUT LOFTS, we don't rent desks, we build connections. When you join our community, you work alongside talented, driven individuals who are willing to share knowledge, contacts, skills and experience to help each other build successful businesses. We've cultivated a culture of trust, respect and openness between our members. We ask questions, we share thoughts and perspectives, and we build upon each other's ideas. We're more than just coworkers. We're collaborators that work together, create together, hire one another, and help each other succeed.
