Lawrans Apithy and singers (Livia, Allyson and Ellen) from the Black Music School
This will be a ‘feel-good’ entertaining storied evening, full of swing and happy feelings! Laurence Apithy / Lawrans Apithy, founder of the BMS (Black Music School) in Paris, France, artistic development director, soulful pianist, music educator and creativity coach, will tell you, from the perspective of her own experience, about the richness and diversity of soul music, which embrace the arts of singing, improvising, performing and entertaining.
She will take you on her artistic musical journey through African-American music and culture. As a musician and coach who passes on the story that has been rooted in the blues. She will tell you more about exploring the voice as an instrument, developing talents with dedication and motivation and about the importance of keeping creativity alive as a basic positive human necessity.
Lawrans will introduce to you Livia, Allyson and Ellen who represent a generation of ‘young, gifted and black singers’ (as Aretha Franklin would say), that carries on the legacy of the great legends.
They will perform a couple of songs of their show with the enthusiastic energy of gospel hand-clapping and foot-stomping, jazz scatting, beautiful harmonies which embody the magic of rhythm’n’blues and soul music.
The menu is at the inspiration stage but will be a complete dinner (appetizers, soup, main course other items and dessert) with choice of red or white wine, beer, cremant, and other beverages served. This Storytelling Evening will be chez moi. Codes sent when you RSVP. Note: this event is on a SUNDAY.
