Share Storytelling and the Visual Arts

Event Details

Period rooms, with their historic furnishings and interior designs, can set the imagination on a journey into the past. They evoke the passage of time, conjure up lives lived in other circumstances, and reveal the personal tastes of those now gone. This workshop focuses on storytelling and draws upon the decorative arts and interior settings given to the gallery by the Philadelphia collector Joseph E. Widener. Activities will be led by writer and poet Elizabeth Cross and are appropriate for all educators wishing to help their students build verbal and written language skills using art as a compelling source of inspiration.
