Event description

Description

Who gets to tell whose story? What is our responsibility as makers to the people featured in the content we create? How are media makers practicing accountable storytelling? And what are the challenges and the rewards?

Filmmakers, producers, showrunners, actors, and others in film and television are pondering these questions in ways that we haven't before, as are community based organizations who use media to advance their work.

Working Films and Beautiful Ventures invite you to join us for an evening of conversation about accountable storytelling.

A panel of local and nationally recognized filmmakers, reality TV producers, actors, and cultural organizers will jumpstart small group conversation, and we'll feature Working Films' recently releasd StoryShift video interviews, which share the experiences of documentary filmmakers' striving for accountability. Most importantly, this is a space for you to connect with other mediamakers and organizations in Atlanta.

We'll have light snacks, beer, wine and popcorn, of course. All free of charge.

PARKING:
Plenty of free parking is available in the Trees Atlanta Parking Lot. More free street parking either on Chester Ave or on Fulton Terrace. Paid parking available at the Habitat for Humanity lot on Chester Ave and Memorial Drive.

PLEASE ENTER THE EVENT AT THE BACK ENTRANCE.
Walk around the side of the building and make a right up a few stairs to the back door entrance where you’ll see the registration table.
