WHAT IS STORY THE FUTURE?

More than 60 of the world’s most inspiring and experienced practitioners of story and narrative-driven change have been invited to be part of the Story the Future Summit September 10 - 30.

Story the Future is a three-week online summit filled with dialogue, inspiration, and ideas participants can put to work right away to “story the future.” The Summit is a collection of half-hour interviews discussing a range of facets around storytelling and story work. New interviews will be coming out daily, jam-packed with fresh ideas, ways to work with story and insights into how story is working in, and changing, the world.

The intention of this Summit is to share stimulating new ways of looking at story and story work, connect the international field of people interested in story and help all of us deepen our practice.

CHOOSE THE ALL-ACCESS PASS

The ALL-ACCESS PASS gives you access to all interviews + all Live Events + bonus material through 2018 and costs only US$147 (that's an astounding value including 3 live events at $30 each and an incredible stack of additional materials). If you have the Pass, you'll also be able to view the recordings of the Live Events.

CHOOSE SEPARATE LIVE EVENTS

You can also choose to attend each of the Live Events separately. The Live Events give you the opportunity to hear from people doing amazing story work, then break into a small group with colleagues from around the world to discuss the topic in more detail. This is where we build our community and our conversation in real time.

All Live Events take place from 10:00 - 12:00 PST/1:00 - 3:00 pm EST/19:00 - 21:00 CET. This is where we build our community and our conversation in real time.

WEEK 1: What Does it Take to be an Everyday Story Activist?

With Christina Baldwin + Mary Alice Arthur / Hosted by David Hutchens

Join us for a highly participatory, cutting-edge story conversation on Saturday September 15. We all know that something needs to change. Maybe that's in your own personal story. Maybe there's a community issue, or maybe you want to aim even bigger. What is a Story Activist and what are the everyday acts that can start to make change?

Join Christina and Mary Alice to talk about the little -- and not so little -- things that make a big difference. The inner -- and outer -- orientations and paradigm shifts the help you take back the power of your story. During this live event you'll have the opportunity engage with the questions on your heart and mind, then break into a small group with colleagues from around the world to take your conversation deeper.

WEEK 2: Navigating the Big Stories of Our Times

With Patrick Reinsborough, Madelyn Blair & Mike Smith / Hosted by David Hutchens

Our second Live Event takes place on Saturday September 22. We'll be taking a look at what it takes to cultivate and hold on to your resilience in the face of change, how to manage the boundaries of your core story and much more.

Our speakers will talk from their own experience of taking on big narratives -- Patrick on climate change, Mike on AIDS and Madelyn as a specialist on resilience. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions and be in conversations with colleagues from around the world. This is where we deepen community field and practice story sharing.

WEEK 3: What's the Future Story of Story?

With Bayo Akomolafe + Chené Swart + Drew Dellinger / Hosted by Mary Alice Arthur & Amy Lenzo

Our final Live Event takes place on Saturday September 29 and this time we delve deeply into how to story the future. It's time challenge how we see the present, to question the edges and what we say matters in order to tell a new story about life. Drew Dellinger is a poet, an activist and someone engaged in curating a planetary movement. Chené Swart stands on the foundation of narrative therapy to support and challenge us to re-author our future and our world. Bayo Akomolafe, originally from Western Nigeria and now resident in India. He is a deep thinker, edge dancer, lyric writer, proud parent and passionate engager in life. We offer a conversation that is both fierce and tender, challenging and hopeful, inviting us to walk up to the edge and tell a story about what we see.

This Event takes place from 10:00 - 12:00 PST/1:00 - 3:00 pm EST/19:00 - 21:00 CET. This is where we build our community and our conversation in real time. When you register, you will be sent the Zoom link.
