Description

"The more I traveled, the more I realized that fear makes strangers of people who should be friends." Shirley MacLaine

Kick off your year with LearnServe on Wednesday, January 23rd, 2019 from 6-8pm for "Stories with Strangers”, a gathering to celebrate the power of collaboration and conversation in making an impact.

Collaboration and conversation, often with people we don’t yet know, are two things progress requires. While LearnServe’s young social innovators thrive at connecting with others, so many of us struggle with this. How can we create pathways to collaborate and converse with people we otherwise wouldn't in our own lives?

In this LearnServe event, hosted by LearnServe Venture Mentor and Growth Council member Matt Scott (Creator of 180º of Impact and Manager of Storytelling and Engagement at SecondMuse), connect with other members of the community, and enjoy a short program beginning at 6:30pm, including a short film screening of part of the Miles of Portraits: Alaska film series created by Erik Douds and Annalisa van den Bergh, two type 1 diabetics and visual storytellers who have traveled across America to prove you can “go anywhere, do anything”.

Lite snacks and drinks will be provided.
