Come hear rare stories from witnesses and survivors of South Asia's 1947 Partition, also recognized as the world's largest mass refugee crisis. Nearly 2 million died and up to 25 million were uprooted due to the Partition, or 1% of the world's population at the time.
Join us as we explore the 1947 Partition through a special screening of survivor footage followed by witnesses sharing their stories.

The 1947 Partition Archive
The 1947 Partition Archive gives voice to those who witnessed the Partition of South Asia in 1947, an event that is as significant as the Holocaust in Europe and the World Wars, but has attracted little documentation. So far, over 500 volunteers have helped preserve nearly 2000 stories on digital video. There is a great urgency for us to carry out the work as fast as possible since those who remember Partition are now in their 80’s, 90’s and beyond.
