About this Event

PERFORMANCE part of the PNA Un-Conference...

“Stories about standing up to everyday bigotry”

True Story Theater (Boston, MA)

When someone you know personally (e.g. a co-worker, family member, neighbor) has said or done something bigoted, whether intentionally or unintentionally--did you freeze up or act? What worked well? What got in your way?

Or have you personally been the target of demeaning remarks and actions--from friends, acquaintances, or strangers on the street? Did anyone around speak up or offer effective support?

Let’s share our experiences to become more empowered. Stay for a debrief after the show and learn about the Active Bystander Intervention training workshops we have led 6-10 times a year since the 2016 elections.

We encourage conference attendees to sign up for our workshop sessions Dec. 1-3.

About the troupe:

Founded in 2001, True Story Theater (Boston, MA) has a mission of social healing through improvised theatre. Our troupe of 15-25 performers offers 60-100 Playback performances and workshops a year on a wide variety of social issues.
