"Stop The Bleed" Bleeding Control for the Injured
No matter how rapid the arrival of emergency responders, bystanders will always be first on the scene. A person who is bleeding can die from blood loss within a few minutes, so it’s important to quickly “Stop the Bleed.”
"Stop the Bleed" is a nationwide campaign to empower individuals to act quickly and save lives. This two-hour program is instructed by highly trained and experienced Trauma providers from Health First's Holmes Regional Medical Center and local law enforcement officials.
Bleeding Control for the Injured (B-Con) teaches participants basic lifesaving interventions, including bleeding control using tourniquets, gauze and hemostatic agents. The course is designed for non-healthcare professionals including firefighters, security personnel and civilians.
