The STOP Training and Education Committee was formed in 1999 to collaborate with local agencies within ND to coordinate regional trainings on the topics of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. Trainings are offered 2-3 times a year throughout ND and focus on the needs of rural professionals. All agencies, rural or urban, are welcome to attend.
The goals of STOP are to promote a coordinated community response that is sensitive to the needs of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking victims;to provide community professionals with a basic understanding of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking and the complex nature of providing services;and to train community professionals working with victims and their families on state laws pertaining to domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking, evidence collection, interviewing and interrogation techniques, and understanding and enforcing protection orders.
