Event description

Description

One woman is killed in Australia by a partner or ex-partner nearly every week. Domestic violence is estimated to cost the community $21.7 billion every year, including the traumatic ongoing impact on women and children.

Bill Shorten has committed to putting all his energies into stopping domestic violence. But what does this mean for Federal Labor in practice? Significant funding, but how much? What services and systems must be prioritised? What can we do on prevention?

Come and hear from Federal Labor’s Deputy Leader and Shadow Minister for Women, Tanya Plibersek as well as Natalie Lang, Secretary of the Australian Services Union (NSW & ACT Services Branch), Julia Fox, Assistant Secretary of the SDA, and practitioners on these important questions.
