Stoned vs Drunk vs Sober: A Standup Comedy Competition
Wednesday, January 1, 2014 from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM (CST)
How do you like your standup comedy? Some like it smokey, some like it wet, and some like it pure. With "Stoned vs Drunk vs Sober," we have representatives from each group performing comedy challenges to determine which state of mind makes for the best performance.
Hosted by Rob Gagnon
Stoned: Duncan Carson (host of Sure Thing, Funniest Person in Austin Finalist) Cody Greenlee
Drunk: Bob Khosravi (host of The Mission Storytelling Project, Funniest Person in Austin Finalist) Jesse Mundy
Sober: Aaron Brooks (Out of Bounds Festival, Funniest Person in Austin Semi-Finalist) Lane Krarup (host of The Never Ending Comedy Competition, Fun Fun Fun Fest)
$7 online/$10 @ door
Only at TNM! (616 Lavaca St)
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
We can't sell alcohol at our venues, so it's BYOB. However, if the event states that we're giving out free booze (which sometimes happens), you'll have to show a 21+ ID to get in the doors.
What is the refund policy?
If you buy an online ticket, you should arrive 30 min before the start of the show to guarantee getting a seat because we also sell tickets at the door and usually have a crowd waiting for no-show seats. If you don't arrive at least 10 min before the show, your seats could be given out to people on our waiting list, and if that happens, you will not be entitled to a refund since we don't offer refunds after the show has started.
When & Where
The New Movement
The New Movement is a kick-ass comedy conservatory/performance venue that exists in two great southern cities at once - Austin and New Orleans. We teach improv and sketch classes, host shows 7 nights a week, and throw cool festivals like Hell Yes Fest, The Megaphone Marathons, and the Improv Wins Conference.
You really need to get onboard what we're doing because it's all of the fun things.
