"This year's [2019] indie gem..." - Psychocinematography

Stolen is the directorial debut of Japanese indie filmmaker Taka Tsubota, a mid-feature that explores the aftermath from the family's perspective when a little boy gets allegedly kidnapped by North Koreans.

This is a story inspired by the events from the 70s and 80s in which Japanese citizens would disappear, taken by North Koreans for still unknown purposes. The government has recorded 17 citizens abducted, but speculation brings the number up to the hundreds.

Stolen, however, is just the story of one.

Filmed when writer/director Taka Tsubota was still living in Japan, join us for 58 minutes on this special night in Little Tokyo's Japanese American National Museum, in a space for everyone to see.

After the film, there will be a Q&A with the director, as well as a special presentation by the Stolen distributor: fortune8.

And after the event, we will be holding a mixer/afterparty. More details below!

Come and be a part of casting a deeply intimate light on what would otherwise be obscure or just a headline.

FAR BAR address: 347 E 1st St, Los Angeles, CA 90012, United States

We will be heading out together shortly after the screening and the Q&A.
