STOICON-X Event Coming Up in Milwaukee
During International Stoic Week

Learn Modern Applications of Ancient Philosophy at October 12 Event

The Milwaukee Stoic Fellowship will be hosting a STOICON-X event here in the Greater Milwaukee area from 10:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday October 12th at the Central branch of the Milwaukee Public Library. This free event, open to the general public, is scheduled during International Stoic Week, which runs from Monday, October 7th to Sunday, October 13th. This Stoicon-X event offers participants opportunities to learn how ancient Stoic philosophy is being put into practice in modern times by people all over the world and of all walks of life.

Stoicism is an ancient school of Greek and Roman philosophy. Modern practitioners of Stoicism number in the hundreds of thousands. Principles, perspectives, and practices drawn from Stoic philosophy are used by people in fields ranging from business, technology, athletics, the military, medicine, psychotherapy, and education. It helps people manage emotions, develop resiliency, make good decisions, and become more happy with their lives, relationships, and careers.

Stoicon-X events are smaller, local versions of the main STOICON annual conference (held this year in Athens), hosted by the Modern Stoicism organization. STOICON-X Milwaukee includes talks by local Midwest practitioners and teachers of Stoicism, opportunities for conversation and networking, the chance to give and hear short “lightning round” talks, and participation in a workshop previously given at the main Stoicon in 2018.

Tickets for the event are available immediately and will be reserved, exclusively, through Eventbrite. Given the capacity of the venue, there is room for sixty-five (65) attendees. Coffee, tea, refreshments, and a catered lunch from Tandem Restaurant will be provided for the participants. We are able to offer the event free of charge thanks to the generous underwriting of an anonymous patron.

The schedule for the event is as follows:
