Event description

Description

OPTIONAL 1-2 pm Lunch

2.00-3.30pm Workshop

This workshop will be led by design specialist Richard Evans SFHEA (QUT) who will be a Keynote Speaker on 'The Spatial Dynamics of Learning Environments' at the Science Teaching & Learning Colloquium earlier in the day.

Richard has extensive experience as an educator, researcher and designer. He uses his deep understanding of learning pedagogies, creative insight, and human-centred design to develop learning spaces that fuse physical and digital elements in ways that foster innovation and collaboration. Richard will share pre- and post-occupancy lessons about designing large- and small-scale learning spaces, and helping teachers use them effectively.

Supported by leading educators from the Joint Colleges of Science, Richard will support participants to become involved in deep small-group discussions about existing and future learning spaces at ANU, guided by photographs of diverse learning spaces around campus. This will be an excellent opportunity for conversations about interactive and collaborative learning, the use of technologies, and how to overcome challenges.

Facilitators will include:

Katrina Anderson SFHEA (ANUMS, CHM)
Beth Beckmann PFHEA (STLC)
Juliey Beckman (RSB, COS)
Stefan Broer (RSB, COS)
Matthew Brookhouse (FSES, COS)
John Debs SFHEA (RSPE, COS)
Joe Hope SFHEA (RSPE, COS)
Paul Francis SFHEA (ANU Distinguished Educator, RSPE, COS)
Michael Platow SFHEA (ANU Distinguished Educator, RSP, CHM)
