Runaway Dish presents STIR Summer Suppers
5 dinners + 5 chefs + 5 concepts
In August 2017, Runaway Dish is teaming up with Basin Arts for a unique dance and food performance event, STIR, at the Acadiana Center for the Arts. STIR mixes the senses together taking inspiration from some of life’s basic necessities, food and movement. Five choreographers will present five new dance works in collaboration with chefs from around Acadiana.
Leading up to STIR, Runaway Dish is hosting five dinners to showcase the chefs and the concept behind each dance piece. In a city where cooking and dining can be considered fine art, we invite you be be a part of these unique evenings as choreography and culinary inspiration take centerstage.
These exclusive dinners will allow guests the opportunity to mix and mingle with the chef and choreographer at a cocktail reception followed by a communal-seated dinner. Each dinner includes an up-close look at the choreographic process and offers a taste of what’s to come in August for STIR at the AcA. This series is much smaller and intimate than our usual seated dinners. Only 24 tickets will be sold to each (as opposed to our usual 60).
Summer is all about savoring the longer days and breaking out of the day-to-day routine. Our STIR Summer Suppers are meant to do just that. Creative chats with new people around the table as the menus and venues keep changing…what’s not to love! Grab a ticket for night one or join us for a few.
Cost for each dinner is $125 per person, and includes tax, gratuities, and a cocktail reception. Seats are limited to just 24 people per night. Proceeds from the dinners will help fund the August STIR performance.
