Welcome to the IZE on Food Security and Food Justice across Butler County Stick a Fork in Hunger! challenge. Your project should occur for one or more days between October 8 and October 23, 2021. We look forward to hearing about your project! Please remember to send an email to srusna.contact@gmail.com by 5:00 pm on October 22, 2021 in which you share the results of your Stick a Fork in Hunger! project including your great stories, the amount of food and/or funds you collected and/or the number of people you served through your project, and, if available, photos that help tell your story. Consider joining others who hosted projects and bring your non-perishable food items and/or funds you collected to the Stick a Fork in Hunger! Celebration on Saturday, October 23rd from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 150 N. About this event

October 17 - 23 2021 is IZE on Food Security and Food Justice Week. The goal of which is to encourage people to RealIZE how food insecurity impacts our neighbors, EmpathIZE with those persons experiencing food insecurity, and MobilIZE, as a community, to change the current reality in Butler County.

Stick a Fork in Hunger! challenges Butler County individuals, businesses, social and civic groups, nonprofit and faith-based organizations, local governments and K-12 schools and youth groups to do something to reduce food insecurity across Butler County, PA. Consider organizing a clever project to raise funds to support our County's hunger relief organizations, sponsor a nonperishable food drives or virtual food drives, host free nutrition and cooking workshops, -- really, the possibilities are endless!

1. Decide on an IZE on Food Security and Food Justice Stick a Fork in Hunger! project that you or your group will sponsor between October 8th and October 23rd .

2. Register your IZE on Food Security and Food Justice Stick a Fork in Hunger! project here.

3. Market and hold your project before October 23rd.

In the weeks following, Stick a Fork in Hunger! great stories and outcomes will be publicized via local and social media. All those who registered a Stick a Fork in Hunger! project will receive an email with an overview of what we, together, accomplished to Stick a Fork in Hunger! and a certificate of appreciation.

5. On Saturday, October 23rd 2021 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Butler SUCCEED 150. N. Main Street, Butler PA join us at the Stick a Fork in Hunger! Celebration to deliver nonperishable food items you collected and/or funds raised you raised .
