Steven Feuerstein "Turbocharge Your PL/SQL Code" webinar
Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 10:00 AM - Friday, September 20, 2013 at 12:30 PM (CDT)
Wednesday, Thursday & Friday September 18, 19 & 20 2013
Wednesday, Sept. 18 - 10:00 to 12:30 US Central Time - Bulk Processing of SQL in PL/SQL
This session focuses on how to turbo-charge the performance of multi-row SQL statements executed from within a PL/SQL using FORALL and BULK COLLECT.
These features have been around since Oracle8i, but many developers still don't use them or only scratch the surface of what is possible. The Bulk Processing webinar will talk about why these features were needed and how they work. Steven will start with simple examples and syntax and drill down into all nuances, including the LIMIT clause for BULK COLLECT and the SAVE EXCEPTIONS, INDICES OF and VALUES OF clauses for FORALL. After attending this webinar, you will be able to both create new programs built around these features and also redesign existing programs safely to dramatically improve performance.
Thursday, Sept. 19 - 10:00 to 12:30 US Central Time - The Oracle Database 11g Result Cache Feature
The Result Cache feature is, far and away, the most important new feature in Oracle Database 11g for PL/SQL developers. This feature offers a sophisticated, instance-wide cache tied to PL/SQL functions that can greatly improve performance by avoiding repeated, unnecessary fetching of unchanged data. This session explores all aspects of the Result Cache, including guidance on how to use it with other Oracle features, including invoker rights and virtual private database. It is very easy to add the result cache feature to a function, but it can be quite a challenge to determine how and when to best apply the feature.
This webinar will give you all the knowledge and tools you need to successfully integrate Result Cache into your applications.
Friday, Sept. 20 - 10:00 to 12:30 US Central Time - Key PL/SQL Optimization Features and Utilities
The third webinar in this series focuses on other useful performance-related features, such as collections, NOCOPY, the PL/SQL optimizer, calling PL/SQL functions in SQL. In addition, we will review key utilities provided by Oracle to help us identify performance bottlenecks and analyze/compare performance of program units (such as the two execution profilers, memory analysis and DBMS_UTILITY.GET_*_TIME functions).
During the webinar, you will see and hear Steven present from the convenience of your home or officeand save time and money. You will have 30 days access to the webinar recording, so no worries if you miss anything or want to review later. Steven has added 30 minutes to each session to allow for plenty of time for questions.
