Description

Steven D. Wingert, a magnificent soul and his WB family’s Superhero, was born in Sioux City, Iowa on February 7, 1960. Steven courageously fought his battle having stage IV pancreatic cancer. Unfortunately, our one and only Superman kicked cancer to the curb and left us on Monday, March 18, 2019. He is finally at peace. While the world has lost an amazing soul, a bright light in all of our lives, and a man with one of the biggest hearts ever seen, he is finally at peace.

Steven was the Chief Operating Officer, for Lowndes Law Firm in Orlando, Florida. Steven led the firm’s operating business units to help drive law firm performance. Steve worked with staff and attorneys in regional and national law firms, for the past 22 years, with direct responsibility for Human Resources, Finance, Facilities, Information Technology, and Marketing, and he has developed tactics that promote attorneys, staff and firms to perform at their absolute best.

Steven graduated from Creighton University (B.A. in Psychology). He went on further to graduate from Truman State University (M.A. in Human Resource Management), and Our Lady of the Lake University (M.B.A. in Management). He was in the process of researching for his Ed.D. and dissertation in Interdisciplinary Leadership with Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.

Steven was the 2012 Association of Legal Administrators National President. He has a Six Sigma Yellow Belt certified. He is also a Certified Legal Manager. Steven has a devout love for all sports. He was an award-winning high school football player, and he loved the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers, where he enjoyed being a shareholder.

Some people bring so much light into the world, that even after they have left, the light remains. Steven is a man who loved life, his family and friends. He lived life and he relished it. May all of us strive to live like Steven and to live for the moments that you can't put into words.

Steven is preceded in death by his father, Robert D. Wingert. He is survived by his husband, Mark Bridgeman of Orlando, Florida, his mother, Joyce A. Wingert of Nevada, Iowa, his brother Kevin (Lisa) Wingert of Lake Panorama, Iowa, his sister, Shelly (Randy) Bitz of Nevada, Iowa and his “kids,” Meghan Wingert (Ben Hable-Guild) and Brian Wingert of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and Chenin (Sean) Donahue of Maple Grove, Minnesota. He is also survived by his two grandsons, Braden Thomas Donahue and Jayce Colton Donahue and the newest Wingert/Hable-Guild baby due in June 2019.

Celebrations of life will be held at Digress in College Park, Florida, on Saturday, May 4, 2019 (5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.) and at the Journeyman Hotel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Saturday, April 27, 2019 (4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.).

Steven would have wanted any charitable donations that would be considered, made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PCAN). You can find information at https://www.pancan.org/

An RSVP by April 20th is appreciated.
