About this Event

Note that this concert will take place at an outdoor location in Milton, MA, not far from the Blue Hills Reservation. Exact location info will be shared upon purchase. All in attendance will be expected to wear face coverings throughout and maintain 6' distance from those not in their party/household. In the event of inclement weather, this concert will take place on 10/11.

For the last 20ish years, guitarist Steve Fell has been a fixture in the Boston music scene, his technique, taste, and feel elevating musical situations across genres. Pre-pandemic, Steve could be found in situations as wide-ranging as Amy & Aaron Bellamy's top-shelf funk outfit the A-Beez, playing reggae with some of Boston's best, backing ex Apollo Sunshine singer and musical polymath Jesse Gallagher, and many more.

And all the while he's been playing countless jazz gigs, notably as part of collective quartet Clear Audience, whose 2015 Medicine Ball earned a spot on the Globe's year end "best local albums" roundup. Critic Jon Garelick writes that "Fell can float with Jim Hall-like articulation and tone, sprinkle electronic oscillations, or bust out splintered declamatory runs."

Steve says, "I'm fortunate to play with a lot of great players/people across a wide spectrum of expressions. I play improvisational music - jazz, experimental, funk, rock, electronic, reggae, hip-hop, noise, etc. Simply put, I play music. Music is personal. My music is a result of all that I have been exposed to and that which has resonated with me."

I'm thrilled to help celebrate Steve's eagerly anticipated first album as a leader, LULL!
