Description

Choose from 3 free events to help improve your business' performance with guest speaker Celena Fernandez – Head of Environment, Compass Group UK and Northern Ireland and leading sustainable business experts Giraffe Innovation Ltd.

Companies of all sizes are increasingly required to demonstrate their environmental credentials through a formal management system. It can help you grow your business, build a brand and retain and access new customers through green procurement and a better understanding of environmental issues. The importance of an environmental management system (EMS) is an important marketing tool, as well as a source of environmental improvements and cost savings. Moreover, the absence of an environmental policy and management system could prevent your company from supplying current and prospective key customers.

The Steps To Environmental Management (STEM) scheme as part of Low Carbon Across the South East (LoCASE) can help your business to build an environmental management system aligned with the requirements of ISO 14001, or redesign an existing system using provided tools and templates. There are three levels of the scheme - Blue, Silver and Gold, each building upon the last to help you progress at your own speed. The scheme has been recently updated and changed to reflect the changes to the ISO14001 standard for environmental management.

“60% of UK employees say it's important to work for an organisation that has an active environmental policy to reduce its carbon emissions”

  • Scope and measure their environmental impact and performance,
