Event description

Description

Presented by Joseph R. Hetzel, P.E., this session will cover 12 critical steps to take in the calculation of design pressures affecting specifications and installation associated with a garage door, due to wind load on the door. Each step gives specific guidance based on ASCE 7.

Learning Objectives

1. Attendees will learn the necessary standards-based code requirements for specifying a garage door to sustain against wind load pressures and other environmental challenges.

2. Attendees will learn how basic wind speed and exposure affect holding the integrity of the garage door against the wind, keeping the internal building space environment as intended for the occupants.

3. Attendees will learn how to properly plan and execute your design to ensure a structurally and mechanically sound garage door.

4. Attendees will gain a better knowledge of ASCE 7 and how it applies to executing standards applying to garage door wind loads

Schedule
