Step Up Step In BU (SUSIBU) is an interactive training regularly offered to BU stduents that raises awareness about the prevalence of sexual violence and what we as members of the BU community can do to prevent it. Topics covered include the responsibilities of leaders and the community, consent, exploring rape culture, bystander intervention strategies, and more. By the end of SUSIBU we hope for students to identify themselves as pro-social bystanders who have a role in safely intervening in situations that may lead to a harmful outcome such as sexual assault.
SUSIBU for BU Faculty & Staff is an opportunity to learn about how SARP engages with students about sexual violence prevention. Faculty and staff sessions are approximately three hours in length. The entire two-hour SUSIBU program is facilitated as though participants are BU stduents. Additionally, facilitators discuss questions and concerns commonly expressed by students, and would be happy to answer any questions or concerns brought forward by faculty and staff participants.
SUSIBU for BU Faculty & Staff is held at the Sexual Assault Response & Prevention Center (SARP), located at 930 Commonwealth Avenue, Floor 1.
We ask that you please register for the event in order that we may plan for a light breakfast.
Please contact SARP at 617.353.7277 or email@example.com, if you have any questions or concerns about the program. Thank you very much and we look forward to seeing you at the next SUSIBU for BU Faculty & Staff.
