Event description

Description

STEM LAB is for: Parents, Teachers, Educators and Carers who work with early years children (ages 3 - 6).

Do you want to grow your jr STEM knowledge?

Then come and join in on a friendly Melbourne community evening with like-minded people in the early year's education and parenting sector. Together we are going to discuss early years educational practices in STEM in an informal setting.

We hope you will walk away with a greater passion to implement every day STEM into your centre or home and leave with a few ideas so you can do that straight away. Plus I'll let you know what's happening in the jr STEM world so you can keep growing and building your STEM experience.

The evening will be guided around:

  • Sharing teaching ideas and experiences.

  • Demonstration of STEM activities suitable for early childhood.

  • Backyard and Kitchen STEM using easily available materials from home.

  • STEM through Sensory play for the smaller ones.

  • How to build your STEM skills in the early years.

This is our third STEM Lab and our community is growing. The theme will be Light and Shadow. We've got a special guest host for you, a passionate STEM practitioner and early years Educator Marianne Gardner. She will share her knowledge in exploring light and shadows with young kids and provide hands-on experience for you all to try.

Can't wait to see you there, and as always Happy Exploring!
