Description

STEM Day of Play - Building the future generation of architects and engineers: enabling spatial skills development through structured play.

This event is designed and run by graduate students in the Myers-Lawson School of Construction at Virginia Tech. The event focuses on teaching parents how to build spatial skills in their child at home. The event will include games for children (ages 5-7), info sessions for parents and a mid session snack. Research shows that developing visual-spatial skills at a young age can be extremely beneficial for children entering into Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields.

The event begins promptly at 9am and includes information sessions for parents on how to build spatial skills in their children, hands on games/activities for children, and a mid-session snack.
