Description

Stella Blue's Band

Stella Blue's Band was founded in 2009 to recreate the experience of being at a Grateful Dead show. We were the first band chosen for a residency at Garcia's bar at the Capitol Theater in Portchester, NY. Garcia's at The Cap has become the band's home base, and regularly hosts Stella Weekends and Dead Center residencies at the East Coast capital of the Deadhead world. Stella has opened for Santana at Greenwich Town Party and was a featured band at The CapToThe Copa series of Future after shows at The Cap. The band plays regularly at Brooklyn Bowl, Mexicali Live, BRYAC, and venues promoted by CEG Presents and Scenic Presents along with several annual festivals. Guitarist Bill Bonacci has made the list of the best guitarists in the jam band world by Aces Back to Back.

SBB features dynamic jams with lots of improvisation fulfilling the musical magic that the Dead achieved. We play tunes from all stages of the Grateful Dead's 30-year run capturing the unique sound and adventurous spirit of the music. With love and reverence for the music, we create that special feeling and community unique to Grateful Dead Shows.

Stella Blue's Band is Bill Bonacci (lead guitar, vocals), Steve Liesman (rhythm guitar, vocals), Greg Solomon (bass), Ken Aigen (keyboards), Marc Loponte (vocals), Chuck Black (drums) and Ron Cohen (drums) . Our 7-piece line-up with two drummers and strong, soulful vocals with great harmonies separate us from other Grateful Dead bands. With sound and lights, we strive for a 360-degree experience regardless of the size of the venue we play. Like true Deadheads, all the band members are gear fanatics constantly in search of the best possible sound. Our attention to the details of sound and love of the music is apparent from the first note of an SBB show.

Stella Blue's Band is a band on a mission. Attracting both talented musicians and kind folks, a project born out of love for the music, and jamming for fun, has blossomed into one of the premier Grateful Dead tribute band in the country

Brothers of the Road

The Allman Brothers Band are one of Americas most influential groups, redefining rock music and it's boundaries. The band has a long tradition of blending old and new while mixing Blues, Jazz, Rock, and Country to deliver their signature powerful extended on-stage jams.

Since 2006 The Brothers of the Road Band has performed for thousands of fans along the east coast drawing upon arrangements from original studio recordings and live recordings to accurately recreate 40+ years of The Allman Brothers and Dickey Betts’s music catalog. If you have missed the Allman Brothers and Dickey Betts & Great Southern share an evening of their music with the most authentic and longest
performing ABB Tribute in the USA.

As was in the Beacon Theater Shows each show is different and includes guest players such as Andy Aledort (Dickey Betts Band), Yonrico Scott (Derek Trucks Band) Wayne Cobham, (Wilson Pickett), Bill & Don Harris -Harris Brothers Horns (The Allman Brothers) along with other talented musicians.

Allman Brothers Cofounder Dickey Betts was ranked #58 on Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Guitarist of all time. Brothers of the Road Band founder Steve Fernandez has been studying and performing Dickey’s famous guitar tone since 1973 using the exact same equipment including vintage speakers, amplifiers, and guitars. Vocalist Todd Brennan captures the spirit of Gregg Allman while Josi Davis adds vocal compliments from the Bonnie Bramlett / Mimi Hart period. Chris Pagano, brothers Dan & Dave Oconor, and Turtle Goulart comprise the rhythm section. Ray Wylock guitar, Rob Biggers on Hammond Organ, and an authentic Allman Brothers Liquid Light Show
