3D Printers: No funky red/blue glasses required!

As technical communicators, we need to know the latest about products, processes, and services that affect our work. Come see the latest technology: 3D printers. If you thought sniffing freshly minted mimeographs was fun, you're going to LOVE this!

The 3D Printing Store uses advanced, state-of-the-art 3D printers to quickly and efficiently print your creations.

What is 3D Printing you ask? 3D printing, also called additive manufacturing, means printing things layer by layer according to a 3D design file. This differs from traditional manufacturing, such as machining, which often involves subtracting a material in order to achieve a certain shape. 3D printers have a history of being very large and expensive; however, new consumer-focused 3d printers have recently become available for use. You know the saying, "Pictures are worth a thousand words." Descriptions alone simply don't take the place of viewing the printers in action!

Want a behind-the-scenes peek at the first retail store in America catering to consumers, hobbyists, and professionals? Sign up below. This will be a popular event and we are limited to 40 people, so don't delay! Children ages 12 and up are welcome.
