On Thursday, October 5, Schools That Can (STC) will team up with MC2 STEM High School to facilitate a full day of practitioner-led workshops on Real-World Learning practices. Learn from leading educators from STC's network of cross-sector urban schools about how to implement rigorous, real-world relevant learning across your classrooms and schools.

Workshop topics include:

  • Designing and facilitating Project-Based Learning
  • Developing Real-World Partnerships
  • Transitioning to Mastery-Based Grading
  • Building and Sustaining Positive School Culture
  • Executing Meaningful Student Exhibitions
  • Leading Inquiry with SOLEs
  • Teaching in a FabLab or Makerspace

Sessions will be led by educators from MC2 STEM High School, Holy Family Academy, Chicago Tech Academy, Urban Community School, and more.

This is part of a 3-day Real-World Learning Leadership Academy for STC schools (Wed October 4 - Friday October 6), during which teams of educators and leaders from STC schools will analyze their own strengths and growth areas using STC's newly published Real-World Learning Rubric, and begin to design solutions to challenges they are facing.

A block of hotel rooms is being held until September 20. Click here to reserve.
