STC Orlando Central Florida Chapter Meeting - February 20, 2014
Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM (EST)
The Road to Business Analysis Certification: Is it Worth the Trip?
In today’s competitive market, certification by a recognized organization can give you just the edge you may need to secure your career path. If you have been considered obtaining CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) credentials, but weren’t sure how to get started, how much it entails, or even if it is the right decision for you, then you won’t want to miss this presentation.
About the Presenter:
Dalton Hooper has been a technical communicator for more than 25 years, including technical writer for AT&T, Bell Labs, and The Walt Disney Company. From 2010-2011, Dalton was President of the Orlando Central Florida STC chapter. In 2012, Dalton decided to pursue CBAP certification. On May 29, 2013, Dalton sat for and successfully passed the CBAP exam. In October, 2011, Dalton joined Houghton Mifflin Harcourt as a Senior Business Analyst and works there today.

When & Where
STC Orlando Central Florida Chapter
The Society for Technical Communication (stc.org), is a professional organization that “advances the theory and practice of technical communication across all user abilities and media so that both businesses and customers benefit from safe, appropriate, and effective use of products, information, and services.”
Here in Central Florida, we provide programs of interest and value to local practitioners—experienced and novice—to promote best practices, facilitate networking, and provide educational resources within our group and in the wider worlds of business and education. Our close ties to the University of Central Florida have nourished student-to-professional transitions and enabled our members and visitors to benefit from knowledge in both the theory and practice arenas.
Orlando Central Florida STC Chapter meets most months on the third Thursday. Our schedules are posted elsewhere on this site, and the current month’s offering is highlighted on this page. We urge you to give us a try—first meeting is free—and see whether membership is for you. We welcome all visitors.
Please join us: check out our programs and let us know what you think. We are always interested in hearing how we can improve what we offer. Please write to (email@example.com) with comments, feedback, and suggestions. And we hope to welcome you in person at our meetings.
