Event Details

The  BCASA Statistics Career Day will give high school students and
instructors involved with Advanced Placement Statistics courses a "live"
opportunity to envision what a career in statistics might be like and how
to pursue such a career. We have invited statisticians working in
government, industry and academia to talk about the kinds of problems
statisticians help to solve and how they became interested in statistics.
We've also invited graduate students and young professionals to talk about
how they prepared for graduate school and how they made their transition
from school to the working world. There will be a round table luncheon
where students can interact one-on-one with our speakers and there will be
ample time to ask questions throughout the day.

Keynotes: Lisa Sullivan (BU), Arnold Barnett (MIT), Mark Glickman (Harvard)

Panelists for Panel # 1: Kathy Monti (Pharmaceutical + Food Industry);

Matt Calder (Finance); Steven Correia (Fisheries); Joe Massaro (biotech/pharma device; BU);
