Description

The Prison University Project is pleased to host this statewide education and training conference for practitioners of in-prison higher education, as well as others who are interested in learning more about the field.

Topics will include:

- Faculty and staff recruitment, training and supervision
- Academic and administrative planning
- Institutional rules, regulations and culture
- College preparatory programs
- Prison-related logistics and planning

Participants will also have the opportunity to visit the College Program at San Quentin State Prison (facilitated by the Prison University Project), as well as to meet with formerly incarcerated students and representatives from leading local reentry organizations.

The registration fee ($50 before Thursday, February 22; $100 thereafter) includes all meals (Sunday through Tuesday), training materials, and transportation to and from site visits. If this fee poses a hardship for you, please send an email explaining your current work and interest in the field to newprograms@prisonuniversityproject.org. We are committed to making attendance possible for all who wish to participate.
